Yes. Our bonsai club is beginner-friendly, and we’ll guide you step by step.
How often does the club meet?
Meetings are scheduled collaboratively by members. Frequency varies through the year-usually more in spring/summer and fewer in winter-and depends on how many people want to participate. Once dates are agreed, we post them on the Events page.
Is there a membership fee?
No—membership is free. ​
​Where do meetings take place?
Each meeting’s venue is agreed with participants and announced before the session.
​How do I join Connaught Bonsai Club?

What should I bring to my first meeting?
Optional: a tree, basic tools, and questions. If you don’t have a tree yet-just bring yourself.
Which species grow well in Ireland?
Hawthorn, larch, Scots pine, beech, juniper, and Japanese maple do well in many Irish conditions. We’ll help you match species to your microclimate.
Can you help diagnose a sick tree?
Yes. Bring clear photos or the tree (if safe to transport), and we’ll troubleshoot together.

We’re based in Galway and collaborate with the wider Bonsai Ireland community.
